Alberta Motor Transport Association statement on Mandatory Entry Level Training
The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) supports the commercial transportation industry, Alberta Transportation and industry stakeholders in the implementation of Mandatory Entry Level Training (MELT). MELT ensures that all commercial vehicle drivers receive a minimum standard of training. MELT has not been implemented as a hardship on businesses, but instead to provide increased roadway safety.

The 71st Annual Professional Truck Driving Championship took place on Saturday, June 22nd and brought together the professional talents of 50 commercial drivers, as well as generous sponsors and 75 hard working volunteers. The rain stayed away and it was a full day of activity, entertainment and connecting with all kinds of people from near and far.

AMTA Opens State-of-the-Art Safety Training Facility To Improve Commercial Driver Training
Edmonton, AB (March 6, 2019) – Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) hosted the grand opening of its state-of-the-art safety training facility at the Edmonton International Airport (EIA) Airport City site today. The facility will function as a commercial transportation hub for safety training development and delivery, research and technology innovation and will play a key role in strengthening education for commercial drivers across the province.
