Canada Introduces Mandatory Provision of Menstrual Products in the Workplace
As of December 15, 2023, employers will be obligated to make clean and hygienic tampons and menstrual pads readily available to all employees at no cost. This proactive measure recognizes menstrual products as essential as toilet paper and soap, acknowledging their importance in maintaining the health and dignity of those who menstruate.

What is the Industry Task Force (ITF) Association?
The Industry Task Force (ITF) Association is a collaborative organization established under the Societies Act in 1999, working towards positive changes in workers’ compensation matters in Alberta. The ITF represents the viewpoints of Alberta employers who are members of the association. The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) has been an active member of the ITF for several years and recently attended the June 14 quarterly meeting.
2023 Professional Truck Driving Championship
The AMTA 2023 Professional Truck Driving Championship took place Saturday, June 10 on the sunny, albeit breezy, training area at the AMTA Edmonton location.

CITT has announced it newest alliance with an industry association. The formalization of the relationship between CITT and the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is the first step in the two associations’ collaboration to better the commercial transportation industry.

Today, Trucking HR Canada (THRC) announces a new project, funded by the Government of Alberta, that will support Alberta employers with recruitment and retention efforts. THRC has partnered with the Alberta Motor Transport Association to deliver project activities.
Student Work Placement Subsidy Overview
AMTA would like to introduce the Student Work Placement (SWP) subsidy to Alberta-based employers. This subsidy is targeted at both traditional trucking companies and those in other industries that have a trucking component to their operations. Federal Minimum Wage Increases on April 1

Trucking HR Canada releases preliminary research findings on women in the sector
Trucking HR Canada’s preliminary research findings released today reveal the trucking and logistics sector has more work to do when it comes to attracting more women to the workplace.
The first phase of a three-part research initiative took place February 17-25, 2023, with 1500 interviews. The research was conducted by Abacus Data for Trucking HR Canada, and today at its 9th annual Women with Drive Leadership Summit, David Coletto shared the following initial findings with attendees:
