Alberta Premier Jason Kenney addressed the province the evening of Oct. 23 ahead of the release of Alberta’s budget Oct. 24.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney addressed the province the evening of Oct. 23 ahead of the release of Alberta’s budget Oct. 24.

During the speech, some things of note mentioned by the Premier included:

• On a potential global downturn on the horizon: “We’re Albertans, throughout our whole history we have shown we are the can-do province.”
• On the province’s finances: “We have a spending problem, not a revenue problem.”
• On the budget: “This will be a challenging budget.”
• On potential budget cuts: “”Front line services will be prioritized … health and education will not be cut…”
