The AMTA mourns the loss of June Drinnan on Nov. 23, 2019. June was the wife of Bob Drinnan, AMTA General Manager beginning 1967. Bob was an instrumental figure in making the Association what it is today.

“At the first convention my dad ran, it would have been around 1966 or 1967, my mom sat alone for the entire thing because she didn’t know anyone,” remembers Craig Drinnan in an email. “After that [June] said ‘I will never let another person do that’ and every convention after, my mom searched for any person, mainly women, sitting by themselves.  She would walk over and say “Hi I’m June, lets go meet everybody” and she would introduce the ‘in’ crowd.

“So if you are ever at a convention and someone is alone, go visit them in honor of my Mom.”
