Alberta Motor Transport Association – 2017 Annual General Meeting Notice
The 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Alberta Motor Transport Association will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:15AM, at the Rimrock Resort Hotel (Banff, Alberta).
Association’s Board of Directors
Four (4) Regional Directors will be elected at the Regional Meetings between March and April 2017. They are North Western, Central, Calgary and Edmonton Regional Directors. Each position is for a two (2) year term. Each member is entitled to vote for one director in one region.
Five (5) Directors at Large and the Vice Chairman will be elected during the Annual General Meeting. Candidates for these positions may be nominated from a slate prepared by the Nominating Committee or nominations may be made by members, provided that such nominations are submitted in writing to the Past Chairman of the Board, addressed to the AMTA Calgary office no later than 4:30pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, four (4) business days before the April 29, 2017 Annual General Meeting.
The appropriate nomination forms are available on the Leadership Conference and Annual General Meeting page of the AMTA website. The date the nomination is received at the AMTA Calgary office is the receipt date. Forms can be returned by mail, fax, or e-mail. Advance voting stations will be available on April 26 to 28, 2017, three (3) business days prior to the AGM at the Calgary and Edmonton AMTA offices during business s hours (8:00am to 4:30pm). Ballots will include all positions to be filled.
Note: For members to vote at regional meeting and at the Annual General Meeting, the following criteria must be met:
Prior to or upon arrival at the meeting, complete a member voting form, which outlines your company information.
As outlined under item 4.4 if the AMTA By-Laws:
A member which is a firm, partnership or corporation must designate in writing to the Board their employee, officer or director nominee of such firm, partnership or corporation who shall be entitled to exercise the right to vote for such entity.
As outlined under item 4.5 of the AMTA By-Laws:
A member who is an individual must exercise their right to vote in person. No proxy votes will be accepted.
Nomination Deadlines for Regional Director, Directors at Large and Vice Chairman, and Election Date
Edmonton Regional Director
Monday March 13, 2017, 12:00PM – Deadline for nominations to be received by the President of AMTA.
Tuesday March 14, 2017 – The election of the Edmonton Regional Director will be held prior to the start of the Edmonton Regional Meeting in Edmonton, Alberta. Polls will open at noon.
Central Regional Director
Tuesday April 18, 2017, 12:00PM – Deadline for nominations to be received by the President of AMTA.
Wednesday April 19, 2017 – The election of the Central Regional Director will be held prior to the start of the Central Regional Meeting in Red Deer, Alberta. Polls will open at noon.
Calgary Regional Director
Tuesday April 04, 2017, 12:00PM – Deadline for nominations to be received by the President of AMTA.
Wednesday April 05, 2017 – The election of the Calgary Regional Director will be held prior to the start of the Calgary Regional Meeting in Calgary, Alberta. Polls will open at noon.
North Western Regional Director
Wednesday March 8, 2016, 12:00PM – Deadline for nominations to be received by the President of AMTA.
Thursday March 9, 2017 – The election of the North Western Regional Director will be held prior to the start of the North Western Regional Meeting in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Polls will open at noon.
Director at Large and Vice Chairman
The candidates for the Director at Large and Vice Chairman will be presented by the Nominating Committee and additional nominations may be made by members, provided that such nominations are submitted in writing to the Past Chairman of the Board, addressed to the AMTA Calgary office, no later than 4:30pm on Tuesday April 25, 2017.
The terms of office for the Regional Directors, Directors at Large and Vice Chairman are effective as of the date of the 2017 Annual General Meeting.
