ZERO EMISSION TRUCK TESTBED (ZETT)
The on-road vehicle testing under ZETT began in December 2024 and will continue for 1-year to ensure the performance of each truck is tested in all seasons. This will allow us to:
Gather targeted data to address questions on the real-world performance of zero-emission trucks operating the in Canadian commercial transportation sector, looking at the impacts of factors such as weather, routes, maintenance causes and effects (downtime), and driver perspectives.
Involve the stakeholders who are developing the critical enforcement, regulatory and safety frameworks to support the safe rollout and operation of ZEVs in Canada.
Document and share the new knowledge gained through the testbed trials: results, lessons learned, experiences, training materials and best practices in safety.
