WCB seeking industry feedback on three policy updates

On occasion, WCB will circulate policy updates for review by its stakeholders. If you are impacted by the following policies, may be impacted or have an opinion you would like to share, please review the policies below and submit your feedback directly to WCB. Alternatively, AMTA is interested in hearing your feedback, so we are able to formulate an industry representative opinion on our members’ behalf.

Funding Policy 01-01. – Closes April 18, 2022

-WCB’s updated policy draft proposes that it return to its previous process of distributing surplus funding directly to employers when our funding target range exceeds 128%. The draft policy also lowers the threshold to release surplus distributions from 1% of liabilities down to 0.5%. Review the draft policy and provide your feedback.

Cost relief for reactions to compulsory COVID-19 vaccinations – Policy 05-02, Part II, Application 2- Closes March 28, 2022

-As part of WCB’s COVID relief package, they proposed providing cost relief to employers for compensable claims for reactions to compulsory COVID-19 vaccinations. Review the draft policy and provide your feedback.

Medical cannabis – Policy 04-06, Part II, Application 6 and Addendum A- Closes March 28, 2022

-WCB drafted a new policy and addendum to help workers and their treatment providers access coverage for pharmaceutical cannabinoids and cannabis for medical treatment. Review the draft policy and provide your feedback.
