This is the story of Ranjodh, a seasoned truck driver whose life had been shaped by challenges faced, milestones passed, miles travelled and passions for a prestigious industry called “Trucker”.

Ranjodh Dhillon came from a humble background from back home in India from the province of Punjab. His zeal to look for better future prospect for himself and his family he migrated to Canada four decades ago. With roots in India, where he lived his early childhood and completed his initial schooling. Growing up in a humble middle class family, he was raised with a strong sense of responsibility, respect and work ethic. During his early schooling days in Punjab India, he was well known player of Kabaddi, a sport that needs strength, fast reflexes and cool head on matured shoulders. After completing their education in India, Ranjodh moved to Canada along with his family in early 80’s to embrace the bright future ahead.

Settling in Canada came with many hardships in initial years, but with his grit to get things done and never give up attitude he made his family proud and gave a very respectful living. After moving to Canada, he started building his life from scratch. From day one he moved ahead with positive intend and never looked back. He and his family experimented with running a business of Liquor stores and an Indian Restaurant before finally deciding to step into trucking. Nevertheless, as they say destiny has its way for defining our future, Ranjodh’s future was trucking. Soon after trying his luck in various industries, he made a decision to switch to trucking and began the process of licensing in late 80’s.

Since that first day on road, he hasn’t looked back or came across a point where he was in doubt to question his decision of being a trucker. Ranjodh faced the ever-present pressure of tight schedules, the isolation of long stretches away from family and unpredictable nature of job. Yet, through it all, he always managed to find triumph in small victories, a safe and on time delivery, a successful maneuver through challenging roadways, miles driven and joyful memories shared with his fellow truckers.

These open roads have not only been his livelihood but a canvas that he painted his life stories, relationships and hard work on ever challenging landscapes of North America. His highly vested values and personality makes him a fit person to be a mentor for the young and not so experienced drivers to learn / sharpen their driving skills. His trainees not only eagerly learn from him, they also respect him for tons of knowledge that he shares with them while training.

Ranjodh’s journey serves as an inspiration to all who hear the call of open roads and steering towards horizons unknown.
