The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) celebrated drivers, and the work they do daily, at three locations in Alberta this year for National Trucking Week.

According to the Canadian Trucking Alliance, the week serves to “recognize the important contributions made by the 400,000 Canadian men and women who keep the country’s freight moving.”

The AMTA, with the help of many fantastic sponsors and volunteers held events at the Airdrie, Leduc and Demmitt scales in the last two weeks. Between the three locations, 900 snack bags were handed out to drivers rolling through the scales – and the Demmitt scale included a barbecue.
