Alberta Government asking public opinion on province regulations regarding trucking, bus and service companies

In a release from the Alberta Government, the public is being asked to weigh in on how the province regulates trucking, bus and service companies.

The government is reviewing regulations for the commercial transportation industry to reduce red tape and remove redundant regulations on job creators. As part of the review, government will work directly with commercial trucking, bus and service companies to ensure rules focus on safety while reducing red tape. The review will cover use of electronic logging devices, hours of service rules and Alberta’s implementation of National Safety Code Standards. The review is not looking at changes to requirements for Mandatory Entry Level Training for Class 1 and 2 drivers.
