ACES program highlights Alberta Carrier on-road safety performance
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Calgary, AB – March 17, 2025 – The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is proud to announce a significant development in road safety and operational efficiency for Alberta’s carriers. Following AMTA advocacy and collaboration with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC), the Alberta Carrier Excellent Safety (ACES) Program will officially launch on April 1, 2025. This new initiative will replace the Partners in Compliance (PIC) program, offering a host of benefits to carriers who exceed minimum safety standards.
ACES will provide carriers that have a Satisfactory (Audited) Safety Fitness Rating the opportunity to apply for participation, setting a new benchmark for safety excellence on Alberta’s roads. Unlike its predecessor, the ACES Program will be open to all Alberta carriers who meet the necessary National Safety Code (NSC) rating criteria.
"We are pleased to see the ACES Program come to fruition, marking a milestone in our ongoing efforts to promote safety and support the success of Alberta’s carriers," said Robert Harper, AMTA President. "This program is a testament to our advocacy efforts on behalf of our Carrier Members and our work with the team at TEC to improve safety and reduce red tape for our members."
The program is designed to not only recognize high-performing carriers but also offer incentives that will enhance overall safety and efficiency in the transportation industry and on Alberta Highways. The application form for the ACES Program will be available via TEC online April 1, 2025. AMTA encourages all eligible carriers to explore the program’s benefits and complete the enrollment process to maximize the opportunities available.
