A fond farewell for outgoing AMTA Road Knights

The AMTA would like to extend a sincere thank you to 2018/19 Road Knights Ed Stasyshyn (Trimac Transportation) and Glenn McNeilly (Bison Transport) for their service to the program.

“Glenn and Ed  have been paramount to the Road Knights program,” says AMTA Road Knights Team Lead Oriana Kolonosky. “Not only have they promoted transportation careers and road safety, but they have helped transform the image of our beloved industry in a positive way. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the support and dedication of Road Knight Carriers’, Trimac Transportation and Bison Transport – without Carrier support, the Road Knights program would not be possible.”

Ed and Glenn spent their two-year tenure attending a number of events and sharing with people what it means to be a commercial driver, and how a career in industry can provide a variety of opportunities.

My tenure as a Road Knight was a most enjoyable two-year phase of my 50 year career as a professional driver because it allowed me to meet some very wonderful young people. I now know our future is in good hands. I hope I’ve made an impact and provided them with a career path into the trucking industry. – Ed Stasyshyn

I have thoroughly enjoyed attending various functions from high school round tables to job fairs. It was interesting meeting with people from all walks of life, many with a wide range of work skills. I very often engaged in conversations  concerning the trucking industry and all it had to offer. I also took my talents as an AMTA Road Knight and as an In-Cab Instructor to the [Professional Truck Driving Championship] in Edmonton, and also the [Truck Convoy for Special Olympics] where I was always able to converse with other drivers and people in the trucking industry. My tenure as a Road Knight has been very rewarding and also educational and I would  highly recommend that everyone give it a shot if they were able to. – Glenn McNeilly

The 2020/2021 Road Knights team undergoes their training day Jan. 22, 2020 in Edmonton. Follow us throughout the day on Twitter @amta_ca.
