18 Wheels of Christmas 2016 launches

18 Wheels of Christmas is launching its 14th season of working together with the transportation industry and the community to support food banks in the community

This year has been extremely difficult for the citizens of Alberta. With an economic downturn, an increase in the cost of living and high levels of unemployment, the Calgary Food Bank is seeing more people accessing their service. Food Banks Canada states each month over 850,000 people turn to food banks, for assistance, more than one-third are children and youth.

If you would like a food collection box, organizers of 18 wheels will drop off as many as you request to your location. We will then collect the boxes when they are full just give us a call. Or, you can write a cheque to 18 Wheels of Christmas and we will do the grocery shopping. You will receive a tax receipt, as well, any donation of $1000.00 or more we’ll have your Company name decaled on the trailer for 1 year.

Last year your contribution helped raise 37,335 pounds of food. We need your help in filling the specially wrapped trailer more than ever before. We believe with your help we will achieve 50,000 pounds this year. Your donation is key to accomplish this goal. Your support is always appreciated.

This year we will be delivering to the Calgary Food Bank on December 21st.
