14 organizations that are leaders in building welcoming workplaces launch Women’s Leadership Accord
OTTAWA, ON (March 6, 2025) — A special ceremony to launch Trucking HR Canada’s new Women’s Leadership Accord was held today at the annual Women with Drive Leadership Summit in Toronto.
The ceremony celebrated 14 inaugural signatories to the Accord — all organizations with demonstrated excellence in concrete actions to recruit, retain, and support women, encourage their success, and showcase opportunities in our sector for a fulfilling career.
“Today our stage was filled with representatives of organizations that recognize that attracting the best and most qualified talent – half of whom are female career seekers – is vital to ensuring our sector remains competitive now and into the future,” says Angela Splinter, CEO, THRC. “This new Accord is a way to celebrate those organizations’ accomplishments — and also a way we can support others who want to advance their workplace equity objectives with tools and resources they can use right away.”
“We’re proud to be part of this meaningful initiative,” says Shelley Walker, CEO, WTFC. “It’s more and more important to support companies that empower women and shift attitudes about women in the industry in general.”

Intake for the Women’s Leadership Accord is ongoing. There are two steps to join:
1. Commit: Request to sign on; receive a Certificate of Commitment by committing to meet the program’s four pillars of gender equity, inclusivity, safety, and empowerment.
2. Earn the Certificate of Excellence: demonstrate everything you have in place to take action in the areas of leadership, attraction and recruitment, retention, health and safety, and community engagement.
