ELECTRIC VEHICLE INFRASTRUCTURE DEMONSTRATION (EVID)
AMTA has been awarded $2,340,500 by Natural Energy Canada to develop Canada’s first commercial vehicle hydrogen fueling station.
Alberta is a major producer of hydrogen, the most promising low-carbon intensity and zero-emission fuel. The EVID project will develop one of six hydrogen fueling stations, with project partners HTEC, and provide efficient, safe hydrogen refueling for the AZETEC heavy duty fuel cell electric vehicles, two transit buses, hydrogen diesel dual-fuel trucks, and fuel cell electric trucks as they operate in real world trails between Edmonton to Calgary. The fueling station will operate year-round, even in Alberta’s harsh, winter environment. Data collected from the vehicle refueling stations will validate vehicle ranges, fueling times, and hydrogen consumption for a variety of heavy-duty hydrogen vehicles.
