Newly amalgamated Sheriff Highway Patrol continues to meet its mandate
The recently named Sheriff Highway Patrol (SHP) continues to work hard to remove unsafe commercial vehicles and drivers off our provincial highways. COVID may have changed how we do business but it hasn’t stopped us from meeting our mandate. In 2020, SHP has already completed over 27,000 CVSA Roadside Inspections and removed over 10,000 commercial vehicles from the highway.
Snowplows and you: safety on Alberta’s roadways
When winter hits, nearly 700 snowplows and other pieces of snow removal equipment are mobilized to clear Alberta’s highways and maintain safe winter driving conditions. Alberta’s Highway Maintenance Contractors and snowplow operators are committed to their responsibilities for public safety and ask that all motorists understand that they too have a key role to play in winter maintenance operations.
AMTA supports Government’s of Canada and Alberta in International Travel Pilot
Calgary, AB (October 22, 2020) – The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is applauding a joint pilot program from the Government’s of Canada and Alberta to safely test an alternative to 14-day quarantine requirements for international travellers.

Sixty-nine fleets were recognized at Trucking HR Canada’s 2020 Top Fleet Employer gala – held virtually – with top awards going to AMTA members Westcan Bulk, Bison Transport and Rosenau Transport.
H3TDA announces new priorities for twinning Highway 3
Release: The Government of Alberta recently announced funding for Highway 3 Twinning from Taber to Burdett as part of the 10 billion in Provincial stimulus spending and, as a result, the Highway 3 Twinning Development Association Board has revised its twinning priorities.
