Rail Safety Week 2026 is underway, bringing organizations and communities across Canada together to raise awareness and promote safe behaviours around railway tracks and crossings. This year’s theme, There’s No “Undo Button,” highlights the lasting impact of unsafe choices. Throughout September 21–27, Operation Lifesaver Canada and its partners will share resources and stories focused on crossing safety, trespass prevention and building a culture of rail safety.
Today marks the start of Rail Safety Week 2026, and organizations and communities across Canada are once again coming together to keep rail safety top of mind.
This year’s theme, There’s No ''Undo Button'', underscores why our collective work to raise awareness, educate communities and encourage safe behaviours around railway tracks and crossings matters every day.
Throughout September 21–27, Operation Lifesaver Canada and our partners will be highlighting different aspects of rail safety through activities taking place across the country, new videos and resources, and messages focused on crossing safety, trespass prevention, mental health and support, creating content safely around railways, and building a culture of rail safety.
Today, we’re also highlighting #STOPTrackTragedies / #FINILesVoiesTragiques and the powerful personal stories shared by people affected by incidents. Their experiences are an important reminder of the human impact behind the work we all do.
