AMTA March 2025 Driver of the Month: Iqbal Gill, XTL Transport Inc. (Airdrie, AB)

Bio Submitted

My name is Iqbal Gill. I am originally from India, and I came to Canada in 2013 with my parents as a permanent resident.

I settled in Calgary, Alberta, in 2013 and still reside there with my family.

My favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my family and friends.

When I moved to Calgary 12 years ago, I began working in the warehousing industry and then hauling freight for XTL transport starting in 2017.

I take a great deal of pride in running safely and reliably between Calgary and Edmonton daily, providing great service to the community I live in.

After a few months, XTL gave me the opportunity to be a Costco shunter and then as the Lead Shunter and also a member of OH&S Committee.

I like working hard and enjoy spending some extra time to keep my equipment looking like new, and also take responsibility for safety at the Depot.

I think it is a good way to show others we are professional.

For me being appreciated is a must, XTL Transport treats every employee like family. I look forward to being an important part of XTL Transport Inc into the future.
