AMTA makes decision to cancel 2022 Professional Truck Driving Championship

AMTA’s Professional Truck-driving Championship (PTDC) is one of our most exciting events, drawing our industry and the community together. However, this year, driver registrations and volunteer numbers are significantly lower than usual and are not sufficient to run the event.

Consequently, and following significant discussion and collaboration, the AMTA and the PTDC steering/planning committee have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 PTDC. The struggle to host events after COVID restrictions is not unique to AMTA; other organizations are facing similar challenges. Multiple factors may have contributed to, or impacted, the low response rate this year, as everyone navigates a post-pandemic world.

We realize that canceling this event is disappointing news; however, we believe it is the right decision.

We thank the many people who have invested significant time and work planning and preparing for this event; it is greatly appreciated. We look forward to planning and hosting an exciting event for 2023.
