Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) announces 2025 Awards recipients

Enoch, AB – April 9, 2025 – Nine individuals were recognized for their storied contributions to Alberta’s commercial transportation industry at the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) annual Awards Celebration on April 9, at the River Cree Resort and Casino.
The 2025 Award recipients are as follows:
Driver of the Year, sponsored by Volvo: Jim Tench, Flying J Canada Transport Inc.
Safety Person of the Year, sponsored by Echelon Insurance: Dave Davis, ENMAX
Dean Paisley Service to Industry Award, sponsored by BFL Risk and Insurance Services Inc.: Tim Bennett, Barnhart Crane & Rigging
Supplier Award: Tim Lai, Kal Tire
Friend to Industry Award: Clarence Shields, Blackjacks Roadhouse
Historical Award: Greg Sokil
Don Achtemichuk Volunteer Service Award – Chris Plante
AMTA Excellence in Member Service Award: Cliff Litke, AMTA
AMTA Core Value Award: Andrew Barnes, AMTA
