David Schmidt

  • David served as the a Director in the Edmonton region since 2016. He has been a member of the CRA Committee since 2017 and held the position of Vice Chair from 2018 to 2022. Currently, he sits on the Audit Committee and serves on the Board for the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA).

  • David is currently the Fleet and Training Manager for Lafarge Ready Mix (RMX) in Western Canada. His role involves developing and maintaining a world-class driver training program for LafargeHolcim, which is now being utilized in several countries around the world.

    In addition to his training responsibilities, David oversees the specification, purchase, maintenance, and disposal of the Western Canada RMX fleet. He also focuses on the development of drivers and mechanics across the region.

    David is responsible for identifying safety systems for the fleet and managing the RFP process, as well as overseeing the projects to install, maintain, and train drivers and mechanics on these systems.

    Before his current role, David served as a driver (MSE Operator) in the Canadian Military. He also drove for Armor Transport and Bison Transport, accumulating nearly 2,000,000 driving miles and achieving 15 years of safe driving within the Military.
