Course Description

The analysis and interpretation of transportation safety legislation, standards, and policy. Related topics include the legislative process, NSC standards and workplace communication. Researching and validating appropriate sources of transportation safety information.

For Distance Learning Classes: You will receive an email a few days prior to your course with an invitation to the training and instructions on how to access your material. Please note that distance learning is still instructor led and you will be required to actively participate.

  • Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft Edge, the latest version of Google Chrome or the latest version of Firefox
  • Webcam
  • Microphone
  • Speakers / Headphones / Ear Buds
  • Ethernet cable internet recommended (wifi if ethernet not available)
  • Internet connection will need to support a minimum of 50-100 mbs download speed and 15-25 mbs upload speed however personal network speed may vary (speedtest.net)

Participant Requirement

Please ensure that you are completing the pre-study portion of the training before coming to the class. Students are also required to bring a laptop or a tablet for the training session. The pre-study materials are for reference. The exercises in the participant guide will be completed in class so please do not complete prior to class. Prior to attending class please read the WestRay Mining Disaster, Ethics and Liability, The Legislative Process and How To Read a Statute (Act). Please ensure that you are able to present a government issued photo ID on the day of training. Please note that all courses are subject to cancellation with 7 days notice. A full refund will be made in these cases.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy: Course fees will be refunded upon request until ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled class. A $200 administrative fee will be applied to refund requests received with less than seven (7) business days to the scheduled class. No refunds are issued as of the scheduled class start date.
Cancellation Fee: $200.00; applied 7 day(s) before course start date.
