The Health and Safety System Building HSSB (formerly Health and Safety Program Building) course is the first step to achieving your Certificate of Recognition (COR) through the Partners in Injury Reduction (PIR) program. This comprehensive and challenging course is designed to guide and assist safety personnel in the development and implementation of a Health and Safety System.
Who Should Take This Course?
Small Employers (1-10 employees) – Safety personnel
Large Employers (11 or more employees) – Business owner or employee responsible for administering the company’s Health & Safety program

There are no prerequisites for this course.
Additional Training Requirements
Large Employer – COR Auditor
Small Employer – Self Evaluator Recertification
Once successfully completed, there are no recertification requirements for the Health and Safety Program Building course, unless there are significant changes to OHS legislation. As of December 31, 2019 TSB (Transportation Safety Basics) will be retired and no longer accepted as an equivalent.
