Highway 1 expansion and upgrades between BC and Alberta
On Feb. 17, Canada’s Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Amarjeet Sohi and B.C’s Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone announced more than $450 million to expand and upgrade two major sections of the TransCanada Highway – Kicking Horse Canyon and the Donald to Forde Station route.

Although the Canadian Trucking Alliance’s (CTA) request to restore federal excise tax refunds did not make the list of recommended items in that report, it was mentioned as part of the official opposition’s dissenting report to the Finance Committee.
