Truckers welcome extra capacity at North America’s busiest border crossing

Updated: Truck turnaround plan for major ACI AMPS penalties extended
UPDATE: The Canadian Trucking Alliance has had another update from the Canada Border Services Agency that the truck turnaround option for major ACI AMPS penalties will be further extended to December 31, 2018 in the highway mode.

Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation announced the province and U.S state of Michigan were completing North America’s first national, cross-border automated vehicle test drive on July 31.

After many years of discussion and collaboration, and a successful pilot project, Alberta Transportation has announced, as of July 1, 2017, New Generation Wide Base Single Tires (NGWBST) are allowed to run on provincial highways.
