ITF: WCB Premium Relief Program re COVID-ID
The Industry Task Force has released a brief member survey on the WCB premium relief program announced by government a few weeks ago. There were suggestions from some members that the $10m cap on insurable earnings should be increased because this places an unreasonable restriction on program eligibility and that the program should be expanded to include public sector employers. There are also unanswered questions regarding participation of not-for-profit employers.

AMTA releases COVID-19 rest area database
In an effort to help serve commercial drivers transporting goods across Alberta and the nation, the AMTA has compiled a database of rest area locales, amenities offered and hotels opening their doors to truck drivers in need of a hot shower and a bed.
Trucking Remains Exempt as Feds Impose Stricter Measures on Canadians Returning from Travel
CTA release: The Government of Canada today announced that Canadians returning from travel abroad will be required to follow mandatory self-isolation protocols as of midnight tonight, but the Canadian Trucking Alliance is reminding the trucking industry truck drivers remain exempt from these requirements – unless an individual becomes symptomatic – since trucking has been named an essential service in our battle to contain the COVID-19 virus.
