In April 2023, AMTA and Nikola Motor Corp. jointly announced the purchase of a Nikola Class-8 commercial vehicle, and it is now ready to hit the road in the hands of commercial carriers across the province.
DTI Hops & Hydrogen event
AMTA+ Members, Diesel Tech Industries (DTI), is co-hosting a Hops & Hydrogen Networking event on July 6th with Edmonton Region Hydrogen HUB, and you’re invited!
The event will feature an introduction to the Edmonton Region Hydrogen HUB, a moderated panel discussion on DTI’s project partnership with Diversified Transportation, and networking opportunities with professionals across the region’s hydrogen value chain.
What is the Industry Task Force (ITF) Association?
The Industry Task Force (ITF) Association is a collaborative organization established under the Societies Act in 1999, working towards positive changes in workers’ compensation matters in Alberta. The ITF represents the viewpoints of Alberta employers who are members of the association. The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) has been an active member of the ITF for several years and recently attended the June 14 quarterly meeting.

Meet Abdul Abed. He’s a skilled communicator who specializes in relationship building. Abdul is a strong trainer and mentor who takes pride in his ability to teach all types of learners. He has even trained trainers and managed training programs. His experience in administration and project management has given him the ability to adapt to changing requirements and problem solve his way around any obstacles in his path. Abdul is excited about finding an organization he can grow with and aims to be in a leadership role in the future.
2023 Professional Truck Driving Championship
The AMTA 2023 Professional Truck Driving Championship took place Saturday, June 10 on the sunny, albeit breezy, training area at the AMTA Edmonton location.

CITT has announced it newest alliance with an industry association. The formalization of the relationship between CITT and the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is the first step in the two associations’ collaboration to better the commercial transportation industry.
