Over 26 years ago, Real began attending regional meetings and started chairing them approximately 8 years ago. He has also served on and chaired various other committees, including the LCV, CRA, and IRT committees. Additionally, he has been involved in the Driver of the Month, Accident Review, Rodeo, Board, and Executive Board committees.

With 31 years at Bison Transport, Real currently serves as the Terminal Manager for two facilities in Calgary and manages the Equipment Readiness Team. Throughout his career, he has held several positions within the company. Additionally, he owned his own trucking company and worked for two other firms specializing in over-dimensional loads.
Real is also the President of the Transport Industrial Board. Beyond his professional endeavors, he serves as Rector's Warden for his church, manages the cemetery, and is a member of two Indigenous churches. He has also volunteered for the "In from the Cold" program.
