Course Description:
Instructional Design and Delivery (IDD) is designed to support safety professionals tasked with creating or evaluating safety programs. Participants will be introduced to a variety of tools and techniques to develop meaningful training and add value to the classroom experience. Tools and techniques presented will include:
• Presentation skills
• Speaking skills
• Conducting effective group presentations
Students will participate through a series of lectures and hands-on activities and exercises. Participants will practice the material through several presentations and be offered coaching and feedback designed to improve their confidence and performance as adult education instructors.
Key topic areas addressed in the course include:
• Analyze course requirements
• Identify key learning outcomes and create course framework
• Develop lesson plans
• Field-based methodologies
• Present instructional content
• Assess participant learning
• Communicate results and feedback to students
