The Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) is praising Alberta’s Ministry of Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) for its leadership in developing the new Canadian Trucking Regulations Hub, a made‑in‑Alberta digital tool that helps commercial drivers navigate regulatory and operational differences across provinces and territories.
Developed in collaboration with federal, provincial, and territorial partners, the Hub brings together key information in one accessible location, helping drivers plan routes more accurately, avoid low‑clearance infrastructure, and reduce the risk of costly damage. The tool also consolidates links to permits, safety code standards, and jurisdiction‑specific requirements, making interprovincial travel more efficient for the commercial transportation sector.
“The Hub reflects Alberta’s commitment to supporting industry and strengthening national transportation networks,” says AMTA President Robert Harper. “AMTA would like to highlight TEC’s leadership in coordinating the project and ensuring the tool meets the needs of carriers and drivers across Canada.”
Industry trade barriers will be included as a panel discussion as part of AMTA’s 88th Annual Conference taking place April 22-23 in Calgary. Registration for this event closes today, Friday, April 10 at 4 pm.
