Born in Winnipeg and raised in Mayerthorpe before settling in Whitecourt at sixteen, Alex Kunzleman has spent more than thirty years building a career defined by skill, resilience, and an unwavering passion for trucking. He began driving at eighteen, drawn to the sound of the engine, the challenge of the road, and the sense of purpose that comes with navigating everything from mountain passes to bush roads. Over the years, he has operated a wide range of equipment—from pole trucks and cranes to tankers and chip trucks—developing deep technical expertise and a reputation for professionalism and safety. In 2021, Alex faced the greatest challenge of his career when a serious workplace injury threatened to take him off the road for good. Through extraordinary determination, world‑class rehabilitation support from WCB, and the unwavering commitment of the Whitecourt Transport team, he made a full return to professional driving in early 2023—stronger, more motivated, and more deeply connected to his craft than ever.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alex is a devoted husband of 28 years and a proud father of six, a family he considers his greatest achievement. Family is also what led him to Whitecourt Transport—a place where he felt valued, supported, and truly at home. In 2025, he stepped into the role of Driver Mentor, helping guide new drivers and strengthen safety culture across the fleet. Known for his positive attitude, willingness to help others, and even a hidden talent for leatherwork, Alex brings heart and pride to everything he does. For him, trucking isn’t just a job—it’s a way of life. He remains deeply grateful to the entire Whitecourt Transport team for standing by him through his recovery and for helping him return to the work he loves, continuing to represent the very best of Alberta’s professional driving community.
