Built on Hard Work, Gratitude, and Family

An unexpected honor, to be sure. Thank You.

I started driving professionally as a truck jockey shop hand for RentWay in 1990 with only an air brakes ticket. After earning my Class 1 at 22 years old, no one was willing to hire me, so I spent the next couple of years doing home furniture delivery for Leon’s and Auto parts delivery for Universal Ford. In March 1994, one week after my 24th birthday. I was hired as a flat deck Moffat operator for the new Home Depot account with what was then Canada Messenger. After several years doing city work, I moved into the office to handle Matrix Logistics and later CP Ral as a traffic coordinator as the company evolved into Direct Integrated Transport. In 2001, I secured a position as an LCV driver and have proudly continued in that role through the company’s current identity as Canada Cartage Systems.

Trucking afforded me the opportunity to make an honest living and raise my family. I was a single father for seven years before meeting my second wife, Cassandra, who lovingly endures me. Together we enjoy travelling, staying fit, and discovering new culinary experiences. Any success I’ve enjoyed is because of the support of loved ones, the patience of management, and the lessons from my youth that still guide me today: treat everyone you meet as though they may one day be your boss, elevate peers and subordinates whenever you can, and in all things, be grateful.

Thanks you again for this recognition. It is deeply appreciated.
