Angels of the Highway
Commercial drivers play a crucial, yet often overlooked, role in maintaining safety on Alberta’s roads. Each day, they navigate challenging conditions, weather, and traffic to deliver goods safely, while also taking extraordinary measures to ensure the safety of everyone around them. Whether it’s slowing down in hazardous weather, adjusting driving habits to avoid collisions, or assisting fellow motorists in distress, commercial drivers consistently go above and beyond their professional responsibilities to protect the motoring public, while staying safe themselves.
Nominate an Angel of the Highway
The Alberta Motor Transport Association is introducing an “Angels of the Highway” program designed to celebrate and acknowledge these selfless efforts. By highlighting the proactive steps drivers take to ensure safety, the program provides support, promotes wellness, and helps create a culture of appreciation and mutual respect among industry and the public. This initiative will not only recognize the commitment truck drivers make to road safety but also empower them with the tools and resources to continue their vital work while staying healthy, safe, and supported on the road.
