The AMTA has been informed, that with Transport Canada (TC) releasing further clarifications regarding electronic logging devices and their certification process once ELDs become mandated June 2021.
Based on information gathered from stakeholders, hardware and software/smartphone applications are to be tested by a third-party certification body accredited by TC.
TC is accepting applications from potential sources March 2020. The expectation is once these sources are accredited by the Federal Government, the ELD certification process will begin.
